Dear Pastor or Friend,

We are very excited to commend to you Eugene and Fiona Gebert who are preparing to be Ministry Career Field Workers with Australian Christian Churches International Missions. They will be serving in Fukuoka, Japan, together with their two daughters Jessica and Elyssa, and are intending to commence as soon as funds allow in 2015.

Both Eugene and Fiona served in Japan for a number of years prior to their marriage, Fiona as a field worker with ACCIM in Kyoto and Eugene with the Jesus Lifehouse Church in Tokyo.

The ACCIM Board have endorsed them to itinerant around churches for the purpose of promoting their ministry and raising funds.

MINISTRY FOCUS

Eugene and Fiona’s vision is to reach the people of Japan with the good news of Jesus and to see lives transformed and filled with purpose and hope. They are committed to loving God and loving others so that those who don’t know God can experience His goodness, come to know Him personally and become true disciples of Jesus. They are also committed to seeing God’s people in Japan empowered and in turn reaching others to make disciples.

They will do this by firstly partnering with Alastair and Marlene Paterson (who are field workers with ACCIM) at Hakata New Life Church and will be involved in reaching out to young adults through University Outreach and English ministry, youth, families with young children, establishing connect groups and reaching out into the local community. They also have many gifts such as music and teaching, which they will use in the church. There are also opportunities to minister at Hakata International School, a school that has been birthed out of the Church. Later on, they intend to be involved in Church Planting in the south of Japan.

BACKGROUND

Fiona is an ordained Pastor with the ACC and Eugene will soon obtain his Provisional Minister’s Credential with the ACC, and they have both completed cross-cultural missions training courses. Fiona has a Diploma of Teaching (Primary) and an Advanced Diploma of Ministry through Hillsong. Eugene has a Bachelor of Business Marketing and a Graduate Certificate in Theology through Harvest Bible College. Their home church is Melton AOG where Fiona is the pastor of the cell group ministry, and where they are both cell group leaders and part of the worship team. They are also currently assisting a new church plant.
